The following are minimum requirements for our departments:
For Track:
- High school education
- Valid G driver’s license
- Has to pass a Criminal Record Check
- Has to pass an initial written test given by TTR
- Has to pass a physical and medical/drug screening
- Ability to perform physical work in an outdoor environment during all seasons
- Willingness to work day, afternoon or night shifts
- Background in construction labour and/or operator is an asset
For Signals & Communications:
- High school education
- Valid G driver’s license
- Has to pass a Criminal Record Check
- Has to pass an initial subject matter test given by TTR (RE: electrical circuitry basics)
- Has to pass a physical and medical/drug screening
- Ability to perform physical work in an outdoor environment during all seasons
- Willingness to work day, afternoon or night shifts
- Background in electrical mechanics is an asset
For Train Movement Directing / Operations:
- High school education
- Valid G driver’s license
- Has to pass a Criminal Record Check
- Have to pass initial subject matter test given by TTR (RE: railway operations)
- Has to pass a physical and medical/drug screening
- Undergo company specific training for final qualification. The training involves periodic testing that must be successfully completed to remain in the training program. On-the-job training in each of the three interlocking towers (John, Scott and Cherry) is provided. Upon completion of the training program, candidates are monitored before being given final qualification.
